Short Meditation Podcasts
When you begin meditating, it often helps for you to have some basic instruction at the beginning of each meditation.
Unlike guided meditation where you listen to a voice throughout your entire sitting, the instructions provided here give you a brief orientation and then allow you to meditate on your own. You might say that guided meditation is similar to training wheels on your bike; while short, instructions at the beginning of a sitting is similar to taking off those training wheels and letting you ride the bike with your own balance.
Below are two short meditations podcasts with basic instructions followed by five or 10 minutes of silence and then a Tibetan singing bowl chime at the end. If you’re new to meditation, I suggest that you begin with the five-minute sitting. Once you’re comfortable, you can move to the 10-minute meditation. Of course, once you feel secure meditating for 10 minutes, you can go to 15 (or more) minutes on your own.
Please feel free to copy these meditations to your iPod or other electronic devises. And be patient, because you’ll have a slight wait for the meditation to load.
